I find the Saas-Bahu serials offensive to women as well. Notice how a perfect wife in any of those serials is a perfectly devoted housewife. In fact in some of the occasions the situation is so worse that they don't even let their female child to breathe, literally. Well, I guess in India, males will continue to have a psychological edge over women, unless this subject of gender equality is taken very seriously. The other day, my dad was telling me that half of India's strength is being wasted because of this, the allegiant Indian housewives have nothing better to do than to watch those rubbish saans-bahu sagas that are aired on the idiot box only to pollute their minds. Well, if they'd be put to some progressive work instead, it'd be a great giving to the society. Gender equality has always been a problem in India.
