Holiday Report and Back to College Yet Again.
Posted on 08 Sep 2007 under GNEC, Journal/Life Updates
In case you didn’t know, I’ve had the last couple of weeks off from college. (Basically, supplementary exams have been being conducted for those who failed in the last end-of-semester exams, and since I didn’t fail in any, I’ve had the time off). So, how have I spent the last couple of weeks?
- I had enrolled for a workshop in Embedded Systems. Sadly, not having any idea about Microprocessors or Micro-controllers was bit of a limitation. It was still quite fun, as all I could do was apply logic and try and write programs in C for simple tasks such as making an LED blink, etc. But I still can’t believe that not only did I enroll for a workshop during my holidays, but I also paid 750/- to have them steal my holidays :’(
- I launched my website, finally – Gurdit.com. Initially, I wanted to give it a fancy name (“Organized Chaos”), but I’m getting bored of oxy-morons. No matter how good they initially sound, they tend to get lame at some point or the other. (Ok ok, I admit… I couldn’t come up with a good enough name, happy?)
- I got my DVD drive repaired enough to read DVDs… it’s a different issue that it still rejects any DVD you try to write with it, irrespective of whether it costs 15/- or 25/- (yes, I tried with a 15/- DVD and a 25/- DVD… both DVDs are healthy, happy and still empty!).
Apart from that, a lot of things have been left undone. I still have a hell of a lot of lab record to complete, which I’ve been putting off for a long time. I don’t think I’ll be able to complete it before college starts, as I originally wanted to. In case you haven’t guessed yet, college starts again on Monday.
Having done satisfactorily well (20/20 in 5 subjects, and 19/20 in the last one) in the descriptive tests, I guess there’s not much for me to fear going back to college now, academically. But it’s never a fun thought thinking about having to go back to college, is it? Not only do I have all my lab work to be completed, but I also have to wear a very crappy uniform on all days we have lab now (dress code – hurrah!). Also, I lost the sponge sound-softener around my Panasonic earphones, and now they feel loose/tiny and crappy all over again :’(.
I’m also not looking forward to having to re-start my brain. I’m sure I’ll be blank, like most other students in class, when lecturers ask us basic questions that we would have been able to guess in a jiffy just before we went off for our holidays. (Typically college, isn’t it?). Oh well, no choice, as usual. Got just one more day of leisure left – tomorrow. And even that one, I fear, may not be so enjoyable considering that McLaren have shut out the front row of the starting grid for tomorrow’s Formula 1 race :”(
PS: Nikki rocks!
I like “organized Chaos”. Better than the one right now. No I’m not saying your name sucks.
Good luck with College. School just started here.
I’ll play around with some more names before choosing one. Thing with “Thought Overflow” is that I liked it instantly. I don’t intend to use “Gurdit.com”, but I’d like to have my name in the title.
And mine starts on the same day too
…holidays are over after this.
Next couple of weeks of holidays for me are going to be in November.
Me too. Mine starts on Oct 27th.
Not like as if it’ll exist anyway…I bet I have to go back on most of the days for the first month, only in December then I would have a nice holiday.
(Can’t edit…the comment refueses to load).
hmm… (about comment refusing to load)… could be because of the permissions being changed due to the PHP 5 upgrade.
Fixxit.
I dont have any hols as of now.. Hopefully I ll have the whole of december off since my exams start early this time around!
organized chaos was the name of my class magazine this year. we were toying around with ‘organized chaos’ and ‘organized insanity’.
i can’t even think of holidays this year…will probably get a couple of weeks off in june 2008.
I’m still thinking of names. I like having Insanity in the title. I guess I’ll just play around before deciding on a name.
>>I like having Insanity in the title.
What about “Gurdit The Insane”?
Anyway, good luck with your new semester in college.
That would be nice for a wrestler. I’m not a wrestler
.
But you’re right. I also want my name in the title because if someone searches for Gurdit, they ought to land up on my site
Gurdit’s Insane Website
you didnt mention giving me a lift to ameerpet, and me blowing you off a million times
3 = million?
