Free (and exam updates)

They’re done, I’m free! Exam time is gone ![]()
Check out this post of shortly 2 weeks ago, and compare my pre-exam predictions with my post-exam predictions.
The third post in this mini-series will come around 28 May, when the results are rumoured to be being released. (now I’m not sure how the hell to put Future simple/continuous into passive voice, so the last 3 words of that sentence probably read a little funny to you) ![]()
Subject by subject, just like last time. Here we go
- Electrical Technology : I had predicted good things about this paper. Unfortunately, like I expected secretly, there were a bunch of unexpected questions. I still did it quite well, I think. No marks predictions though.
- OOPS through JAVA : This was supposed to be the one in which I was supposed to shine. The problem is that with easy subjects, you get tough questions to trick you into NOT finding them all that easy in the end.
- Switching Theory & Logic Design : It’s a good thing I decided NOT to take my lecturer’s advice all that seriously. I ended up reading more from the textbook than her notes, and it paid off. I’m quite sureĀ I’dve lost at least 10 marks had I not read the textbook.
- Electro-Magnetic Waves and Transmission Lines : At this point, it was 2 to go, 4 down (emphasis intended), and I felt like never getting up. The paper was horrible. Fingers crossed. No more comments.
- Analog Communications : Remember how I said it was my subject? Well, apparently it was the exam paper-setters’ subject too. They probably had a ball setting that paper, and I had to do all I could to make sure that ball didn’t upset my wickets (if you’re not a cricket fan, this analogy will not make sense to you).
- Control Structures : After 5 exams worth of experience, I was pretty confident I knew what kind of questions to expect from this relatively easy subject. I was wrong. The University paper setters probably have many many more years worth of experience in how to upset students’ expectations. The problem with this paper was that it was easy… there were very few numerical problems, which is quite unexpected, and all the questions had very long answers. (To those of you who don’t understand the importance of writing long answers : the university is famous for students’ superstition that the more you write, and the more answer booklets you take, the more marks you get… hmm…)
Well, there you go.

(6 votes, average: 4.17 out of 5)
Everyone knows that the more you write the better! It’s not a stereotype.
I remember that in India, in the History final we used to take like so many extra sheets and write big, just so that it looked big. And the teachers often fell for it. I mean I definately would get more points of i wrote like 10 pages of the same thing rather that 1 meaningful sentence.
But good to know that you’re done with the test. I felt the same feeling on Friday. But now its back to school and everything. AH!!!
Supposedly our results will be out on May 28.
Watch this space (again).
I shall do no such thing, I will not watch the space again.

BTW i get my SAT scores on 28th
Then let’s be merry till the 28.
Do you binge?
Good!
Neither do I
So, let’s celebrate our limited tension-free time by listening to good music, and pretending we’re floating away into the clouds.
What? We’re not floating on clouds?
Uh oh!!
*falls*
but seriously, I am enjoying my free time till teh 28th. I slept 9 hours on a schoolday. That’s the first time in 6 months probably. I don’t even sleep that much on weekends.
9 hours?
Wow, that’s not bad.
On holidays, I sleep around that much too (approx)
