The First Day
Posted on 25 Nov 2006 under Humour, Journal/Life Updates
And so begins the small but vital to my (in)sanity 18-day holiday. What did I do today?
Why, I woke up early in the morning, went for an early morning run, came back half an hour later, did my yoga, bathed, ate a nutritional, wholesome breakfast, and then went about the rest of the morning doing my chores. After lunch, I slept for a couple of hours, wrote two new poems, finalized the entire design layout and colour options for my site, went to the gym for a couple of hours, and am now getting ready to take my study-obsessed petite crush out for a date. ![]()
And now for the truth :P:
I woke up at a calm 8.40am, lingered around for a while, and finally brushed my teeth a little while later. Then I sat in front of the PC lazily chatting and ‘orkutting’. But I did do 2 constructive things in the morning… called up Airtel (who’ve unfortunately decided to start charging 99/- pm for modem rental from only this wretched month, the rats!) as well as my computer tech (who agreed to come home this afternoon and install my 3D card, as per the direct and express orders of my dad - “THOU SHALT NOT OPEN THE COMPUTER BY YOURSELF UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES” (OK, I couldn’t think of the Shakespearan term for “yourself”). Eventualy, I did take a bath, and mind you, even though it seemed pretty late a time of day to bathe to me, it was apparently quite early for quite a few others… but then again, today was their first holiday as well! After lunch, which became convenient since there was a power cut for some time which gave me a little bit of respite from the screen, I played some more NFS Most Wanted. Sometime close to 5.30pm, the computer tech showed up! Hallelujah! Within 15 minutes, all was installed and ready to go. Naturally, I played some more NFS using my new Gigabyte NVidia GeForce 7600GT. I was a little bit disappointed that the game didn’t run as smoothly as I’d have liked at maximum graphics levels, but that can be attributed to my not-too-high 512MB RAM as well as to first use. I expect the game to become smoother as I learn to find the perfect combination of graphics acceleration greed and compromise. After submitting this post, I’m going to go have dinner, probably in front of the TV (worthless couch potato, I hear you say?). Ah well, anyway… tomorrow’s a brand new day… and it’s Sunday! Yet more reason to slop around ;)!

Hmmm…
I can gurantee that no one will spend a vacation like in the first half (OR ideal one should).
And as for the GFX card installation, if I were you, I would have done it myself. Unless Dad was around to see
I would overclock your graphics card to make it run faster. And installing a graphics card isn’t that hard. Its really quite easy.
Good luck with the new graphics card. and i got a new entry in my blog up so please read it
LOL. You could’ve rang THIS tech here.. i probably would be able to have you install with my phone supervision ;o)
And btw… Shakespearan term for “yourself”:
“THOU SHALT NOT OPEN THE COMPUTER THY SELF UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES”
May be incorrect, but sure got a lot closer.
Now stop idling and start blocking.
Be Well
